Brinell Hardness Machines

Tinius Olsen has two types of system, a manual system and an automatic system. The operation of the manual system has the machine apply the load to form the indent, but measurement of the indent diameter, and subsequent the hardness number, requires an operator using a Brinell microscope. The automatic system from Tinius Olsen uses an LVDT to measure the depth of the indent and a pc uses chord theory to determine the diameter of the indent.
This system accurately calculates and displays Brinell Hardness Values...after test load dwell time...in five seconds or less and is really designed for production testing, report printing and data storage. Will test flats, rounds, and cylindrical parts. The manual system complies completely with ASTM E10, ASTM E4, and ISO 6506.
